The Integration of Kerberos V5, AFS, and Windows XP using the AFSLogonShell

(2003) A paper that describes a solution for providing Kerberos 5 authentication for AFS on the Windows platform.  Note:  The method of authentication outlined in this paper is no longer required because the latest versions of the OpenAFS client allow Kerberos 5 authentication if the MIT Kerberos for Windows client is also installed.  However, the information on cross realm authentication, roaming user profiles, folder redirection, and bug fixes is still useful for other purposes.  Our IT group continues to use the AFSLogonShell for logon scripting with authentication to solve a number of issues.

The AFSLogonShell

(2003) A method to provide scripting as well as authentication capabilities during a user logon before the user's Windows profile is downloaded.  This is a modification to the standard OpenAFS Windows client authentication provider "afslogon.c".

Software

This is software that has been developed in-house to be used in our Mosaic Windows environment.  Unless otherwise noted, all software here can be considered public domain.

Current Projects
In general, although not set in stone, important projects are closer to the top.

Too many projects to mention at this point in time.

Long Range

Windows Vista testing?

Windows 64 bit testing?
