It's A Snap: Latch Designer

This calculator is designed to assist in the development of correct parameters in the design of a plastic snap latch (commonly used in plastic products for ease of assembly).  Enter values for the parameters and select Evaluate to determine required snap force, engagement force (assembly force) and stresses incurred.  When an acceptable set of values are found you can select Report to print a parameter report into the text area below the report button.  This data can be copied to any file or report using cut-and-paste.
