Advising is mandatory in the College of Engineering . What this means is that all students must meet with their assigned academic adviser every semester prior to registration for the following semester. Students transferring in will be assigned to a college advsisor within two weeks of the final drop/add period of their first semester.

Students are assigned an advisor as follows:

* Students still completing freshman-year engineering requirements will be assigned to an advisor in the MAPS Office.

* Students taking sophomore-level courses or higher will be assigned to a professor or professional advisor in their major department.
