COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
Transient Study Statement
The William
States Lee College of Engineering encourages all
students to enroll in courses at UNC Charlotte that
advance them in their degree program. The
College recognizes that there are circumstances
where it is necessary to enroll in courses at other
institutions in order to progress toward the degree
in a timely manner. Transient study permits
this. Students seeking to take courses through
transient study must follow the UNC Charlotte
transient study approval process,
http://www.uncc.edu/handbook/fac_and_epa/Academic_Regulations/transient_study.htm
Transient study forms may be found at the
Registrar's website
http://www.registrar.uncc.edu/st.html
under the Print Forms pull down menu.
Transient study
courses will be approved by the Dean's Office if the
courses are covered by an articulation agreement
between UNC Charlotte and the institution offering
the courses. Courses not covered by an
articulation agreement will also be approved by the
Dean's Office for transient study if the student's
advisor, the UNC Charlotte departments offering the
courses, and the student's degree-granting
department pre-approve the courses. Transient
study credits cannot exceed the credit hour limits
for transfer credit set by the university. Students may confirm transfer equivalencies for
courses taught at North Carolina community colleges
at
http://www.uncc.edu/admissions/Transfer/ccequiv.html.
For all other institutions students should
check
https://ais03.uncc.edu/college/.
In all cases, a Permit for Transient Study
form must be completed prior to taking courses at
another institution.
