What is SpyBot S&D?
SpyBot Search and Destroy is a program which removes malware, spyware and adware. SpyBot scans a computers hard disk and RAM for software containing malware, spyware, or adware. One great thing about SpyBot is that it is free and can be downloaded from the program's website. SpyBot has the ability to fix problems with tracking cookies, system internals, winsock LSP's, ActiveX objects, browser hijackers, and BHO's. SpyBot has two unique features, an immunize mode which stops the installation of spyware before it can start and a file shredder mode which provides for the secure deletion of files. Spybot has won a variety of awards and has been applauded for its ease of use and installation as well as its free support and updates. SpyBot has a very useful tutorial section located inside of the application. This can be accessed in SpyBot by pressing the F1 key or navigating to Help and clicking on the Help option. The application help page appears as shown below.
