ANSWERS

  1. This version of AutoCAD can import drawings from all previous versions regardless of operating system. If you currently have an AutoCAD directory in your home directory from the Unix version of AutoCAD previous on the system, copy the files from U:\autocad to H:\apps\autocad.

  2. The keyboard shortcuts for AutoCAD can be used. Using the command window located in the bottom of the AutoCAD window, use your keyboard to type the commands into the command line.

  9. AutoCAD 2004 files will import into AutoCAD 2006 without saving as a different file type. Although their are some things that will not convert from version to version, such as some 3D modeling. It is recommended that the AutoCAD 2004 file be saved as an AutoCAD 2006 file before importing it. This will reduce the amount of problems.

  13. In AutoCAD you ALWAYS draw to full scale. This is what makes AutoCAD useful; no more drawing to a particular scale; no more conversions. Use this to your advantage.

  14. Yes, you can customize your toolbar, but when you close AutoCAD it will not save your customized toolbar. This is because some of the functions are stored in your NT profile which is regenerated evertime you log out.
