An Overview of ANSYS
Ansys is a Finite Element Analysis Software used for Linear and Non-linear analysis of Structures. It uses finite element method as a basis to solve problems. The solution to problems contain 3 stages namely Pre-processing stage, Solution stage and Post-processing stage. ANSYS is used by Mechanical and Civil Engineering students.
NOTE:
1.The program is available in both XP and Unix operating system.
2. First time users are recommended to go through the ANSYS Tutorial for a thorough understanding of basic concepts.
3. THE TUTORIAL IS FOR XP WORKSTATIONS ONLY. FOR UNIX MACHINES PLEASE REMOTELY LOGIN TO A XP MACHINE.
4. After every operation the file has to be saved as ANSYS uses the latest file saved in the solution stage.
