How to configure Microsoft Outlook 2007 to read E-Mail from Home

In order to read your E-mail, you will have to change your Outlook 2007 settings. The following steps will guide you through the process.

1. Click on Tools -> Options-> Mail Setup-> Email Accounts

   

2. Under Email , select New .

   

3. Under Choose Email Service type, select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP and click next.

   
   

4. In the Next window select Manually Select Server Settings or Additional Server Types  then click Next
   
   

5. Select Internet Email and click Next
6. Enter all the information for E-mail settings. Select IMAP as the Account Type.  The incoming mail server is ironhost.uncc.edu, and the outgoing mail server is ironhost.uncc.edu. When you are finished your box should look like the one below. Once you have completed filling out the settings you can test the information to make sure it is correct. Once you've done that click Next.

   

7. Now click on Finish. This will add your UNCC E-mail Inbox to your mail folder list. Outlook should now work normally.
