How to configure Microsoft Outlook to read E-Mail from Home

In order to read your E-mail, you will have to change your Outlook settings. The following steps will guide you through the process.


  1. Click on Tools -> E-mail Accounts.

  2. Under Email, select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.

  3. Under server type, select IMAP and click next.

  4. Enter all the information for E-mail settings. The incoming mail server is ironhost.uncc.edu, and the outgoing mail server is ironhost.uncc.edu. When you are finished, click Next.

  5. Now click on Finish. This will add your UNCC E-mail Inbox to your mail folder list. Outlook should now work normally.
