The following activities are unconditionally PROHIBITED: 1. Using another's account (login name and / or password); 2. Sharing an account, giving your password to others, letting others use your account; 3. Unauthorized storage of data on any disk space that is not your directory (usage of the /temp directory, the C: drive, or any local disk area); 4. Attempting to gain access to unauthorized areas / accounts; 5. Failing to report printer problems; monopolizing lab printers; 6. Displaying or printing lewd or obscene images; 7. Abusing email privileges; 8. Removing supplies, books, or equipment from the lab; 9. Camping, improperly locking, or leaving a workstation unattended for more than ten minutes; 10. Multiple logins (logging in on more than one workstation at a time); 11. Failure to leave a restricted or closed area or classroom by requested time; 12. Playing computer games during times when prohibited; 13. Creating a disturbance in the lab area / disrespect of the posted rules and regulations; 14. Having food / beverages / beverage containers or using tobacco products in the lab area; 15. Failure to comply with the directions of the Mosaic Staff / College of Engineering Staff in area for which they are authorized to direct / restrict your actions; 16. Computer abuses such as, but not limited to: unauthorized use or tampering with the operation of any of the University's computer systems, including hardware and software; inspecting, modifying or copying programs or data without the proper authorization or for purposes other than those for which authorization has been given; turning off or rebooting Unix workstations; disrupting / interfering with the legitimate use of the University's computing systems; presence in your account of unauthorized computer software or programs designed to abuse computers and/or instructions on how to abuse computers; 17. Any other violations of the University's Rules and Regulations including but not limited to the University's Code of Student Academic Integrity, the University's Code of Student Responsibilities and the University's Computer Use Policy.
You must be enrolled in a College of Engineering course, be a College of Engineering major enrolled in any course, or be sponsored by a College of Engineering Faculty member in order to be eligible for a Mosaic account. Your account will be deactivated after you are no longer eligible. System Administrators may change your password to deny you access to your account if you fail to respond to a rules violation notification or for repetitive rules violations pending other administrative actions.
