There are 4 Linux X-servers available to all members of the College of Engineering.   These Linux X-Servers are powerful systems that run the 64 bit version of Red Hat Linux Enterprise version 5.2.    One of the servers, lxs-me1.uncc.edu,  is a compute server with 8 processors cores, 64 GB of memory and an extremely fast disk.  The Linux X-Server systems are:

You may access a specific one or let the system pick one for you by entering the host name of lxs.uncc.edu.
