1. When is my MOSAIC account activated? For COE-majors, the day after you register for ANY class For non-COE majors, the day after you register for an engineering class 2. What is my Log in id and initial password? If you are a new College of Engineering member (student, faculty, staff) your account on Mosaic is automatically set up. Your Mosaic user id is the same as your NinerNet id for reading UNCC email. Your initial Mosaic password will be your birth date (MMDDYY) appended to your BannerID (800 number). You can log in with your Mosaic ID and password from any Mosaic workstation or using Mosaic Anywhere.
I.E. if your banner number is 800XXXXXX and your birthday is Jan 2, 2003, then your initial password would be 800XXXXXX010203 3. Where my files stored are and how much quota do I have? All user files are stored on the network via AFS. This allows the files to be backed up daily as well as providing access via any Mosaic machine or even off campus with FileDrawers (http://coefiles.uncc.edu/). Your files reside on the H: drive under Mosaic Windows and in your HOME directory on Mosaic Linux and Mosaic Solaris machines. 4. Where are the labs located and what are the hours and rules? Additionally, most classes will allow students to take notes on a laptop, though obviously usage could be limited when the classes go closed-note for quizzes, tests, etc. 9. (2) Prior to deletion all user files associated with the account will be downloaded onto magnetic media (archived) and retained by the Systems Administrator for one calendar year. |
