Approximately fifteen students experienced one night of homelessness on September 17th to raise money for the Uptown Shelter and increase awareness of the thousands of people who are homeless in Charlotte. 

On September 12th, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) hosted a service project with Habitat for Humanity as part of the new leadeship and service initiative, IMPACT.

Fifty-five new graduates and alumni publicly accepted the Obligation of an Engineer at the Order of the Engineer ceremony hosted by the National Society of Professional Engineers student section at the Lee College of Engineer on May 9th, 2009.
