Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science

The study of mechanical energy at The William States Lee College of Engineering involves the dynamics and interrelations of energy, forces, fluids, solids and liquids. The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) prepares students for business and academic careers in:
  • fluid mechanics
  • machine, mechanical and product design
  • materials sciences
  • precision engineering, micromechanisms
  • solid mechanics
  • thermal sciences

At the graduate level, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science offers a Master's of Mechanical Engineering (M.S.M.E.) and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Research areas within the Department include:

  • engineering metrology
  • computer-aided engineering
  • computer-integrated manufacturing
  • biomedical engineering
  • material science
